This cemetery, located in section 3 of Sugar Creek Township, Harrison County, has the distinction of being referred to by more names than perhaps any other burial location in Harrison County. Records refer to it as the Williams Cemetery, Holy Mountain Cemetery, Hill Cemetery, and the Old Jolly Farm Graveyard, ...among others. One true indicator for researchers is that virtually every obituary or burial records states that it is "on the old Jolly farm."
Regardless of the name, the cemetery is now virtually extinct and has been for nearly 40 years. The last "official" survey was conducted in the mid 1960s and indicated that there were other burials that were unmarked even then.
The following is a listing of known burials and information compiled from various sources including old surveys, census records, family records and other sources available at the Harrison County Genealogy Library in Bethany. It should not be considered a complete list. The information has been researched and compiled by Phil Stewart in October, 2003.
NOTE: Records indicate that the first burial at this cemetery was that of a child born to Mr & Mrs Reuben McLey, and that "the wife of Rube McLey" is also buried here. Reuben McLey was born in Mason County, Va on March 18, 1834, the son of Felix and Rachel McLey. Reuben died in Harrison County, Missouri on November 26, 1925. He was married four times, his wives being:
