LAUDERBACK CEMETERY, HARRISON COUNTY, MO

No evidence remains of the Lauderback Cemetery. It is believed to have been located in the northeast quarter of section 3 of Butler Township. On Aug 4, 1873, D. R. and Christine Walton deeded "12 rods of land in the northwest fourth of the northeast quarter of section 3" to Thomas Lauderback "to be used for a private or family grave yard..." for the sum of $10. The only evidence that the plot was ever used for a cemetery was an old fence that was present as of 1929. The fence no longer exists and the area is now pasture.

No Lauderbacks are listed in the 1880 Census of Harrison County. A Thomas Louderback is listed in the 1880 Census as living in Mt Moriah, Trail Creek Township, with his wife, Minerva. He is listed as a 43-year-old miller, born in Ohio.
